Follow “Phillip the Elf”: Establishing Fun Christmas Traditions (Updated)

Editor’s note: This post was originally published on 12/8/15 and has been updated for accuracy and comprehension.

Back in December 2015, we had a special visitor at Serra Subaru (Formerly part of Park Auto Group).

It was a lot of fun to follow Phillip around our dealership as he completed his special mission for Santa.

Phillip has gone back to the North Pole and has been dispatched somewhere else on the globe to gather intel for Jolly Old St. Nick, but we enjoyed the time he spent with us.

Maybe “Phillip” isn’t for you. That’s okay.

Here are some ideas for Holiday traditions you can start with your family during next year’s celebrations.

  • Make yummy treats and deliver them to your neighbors.

  • Volunteer at a shelter or a soup kitchen.

  • Sponsor a child from an Angel Tree.

  • Go to see The Nutcracker.

  • Go on a sleigh ride.

  • Visit a Christmas Tree farm and bring home the perfect tree.

  • Read a Holiday book together every night before bed.

  • Have a Christmas Movie Marathon.

  • Make gifts for someone special.

  • Create a gingerbread house. Then eat it! Don’t forget to take some pictures first.

  • Make hot chocolate, pile in the car, and drive around to take in the Christmas lights.

  • Go on a Holiday neighborhood scavenger hunt.

  • Host an ugly sweater party for family and friends.

  • Take a family photo and send out cards.

  • Go ice skating.

  • Do random acts of kindness throughout the month.

  • Write a letter to Santa Claus.

You can have the warm feeling of the Holidays all-year-long with your new vehicle.
