Ready for a Summer Adventure? Check Out These Ohio Happenings

There’s nothing like summertime in Ohio.

School’s out, the sun’s shining, and the days are longer than ever.

What to do first?

Here are some of the can’t-miss activities going on in the great state of Ohio this summer.

County fairs

If there’s one thing we know how to do, it’s put on a county fair.

From the animals to the concerts and the rides – not to mention the glorious food – there’s something for everyone.

Check out this complete list of when each fair in the state is taking place.

Cedar Point

Cedar Point has earned the title of “America’s Roller Coast” fair and square.

With new rides added each and every year, there’s always a reason to keep going back.

There’s still plenty to see and do if rides aren’t your thing.

Don’t forget the beach and Soak City for cooling off on the hottest days on the lake.

Marblehead Lighthouse

The lighthouse was built in 1822 and is the oldest continually-operating lighthouse on the American side of the Great Lakes.

It sits on nine acres that are perfect for family picnics.

The lighthouse itself is one of the most-photographed spots in Ohio.

Visiting the zoo is always a good time.

Cleveland, Akron, and Columbus all offer amazing zoos that have something for everyone.

If you’re up for a drive, Toledo and Cincinnati also have zoos that are worth checking out.

Hocking Hills State Park

Ohio isn’t lacking in places to go for a hike.

One of the most beautiful is Hocking Hills in the Southeastern portion of the state.

You can camp, rent a cabin, swim, hike, fish, and more.

Make sure you plan to stay long enough to enjoy it all.

Hit the road in style

What’s more fun than taking a summer road trip?
